Anyone read The Star front page yesterday? The story where steps are taken to curb bribery and corruption amongst police officers and their subordinates? Saya Anti Rasuah?
Luckily for them, the campaign started three days to late….
8/11/2005 (Based on a recent true event experienced by me heheh)
I was on my way back from an interview in Shah Alam, decided to call a fren when I got pulled over by a police patrol car….Here is the conversation I had with the police traffic dude.
Shit, …
Police A : ” Bagi lesen and ic”
Perantau : “Apa salah saya Tuk?” (sebab tak tau
Police A: ”Memandu sambil bercakap guna handphone??, “ß dengan nada perli
Perantau: ”Ohhh… saya ingat lampu signal rosak ker aper ker….”
Police A: ”Adik tau tak sekarang Ops Sikap 9? Apa2 kesilapan jalanraya kene mandatory saman rm300!”
Perantau: ”Ohh ye ker???... matilah saya Tuk., dah datang daripada Seremban, tak biasa dengan tempat nih…..(Luckily my ic had my Sremban address on it heheh)
Police A: ”Ohh ye ker… adik dari mana nak kemana?”
Perantau: ”Baru balik daripada iview dan nak balik ke Seremban… tak biase jalan2 sini…(sebab2)”
Police A: ”Macamana interview? Nampak
Perantau: ”Ok, confident, tapi saya dari nkve tadi jln nih tak biase… mcm maner nak ke Seremban..( ya allah, aku nak muntah biler ingat balik ayat2 nih!!!)
Police A: “Ohh camtuh.. u terus jer jln nih n belok kiri sebelah midvalley karang..(SEBAB2)
Perantau: ”Ok, terima kasih Tuk, ader care lain nak settle
Police A: “Dengan
Perantau: ”(Seraya membuka dompet)…. Jeng3, ader rm 40 jer Tuk…”
Police A: “Minyak kereta cukup? (Sambil memandang fuel gauge kerete den…)
Perantau: “Cukup Tuk, 1/2full tuh…. Tapi depan nih takder tol ker Tuk (Satu lagi kenyataan yang cukup menyayat hati…), sebab saya baru lepas tol batu 3 tadi, ntah2 ader lagi tol”
Police A: “(Muka berubah kesian… sumpah dude!!!!), Takder dah.. tol pun kat Sg Besi dan rm7.20 ke Seremban….”
And when I thought the police men would let me go for the minor road fault,
“rm30 jer ok laa…”
there, babi laaa polisi nih, how pathetic must I be laaa? Sebab aku tak tau jalan federal highway nih
Haaaaa…. Taktau laaa, knowing our Malaysian policemen, I dunt think we could curb bribery as easy as wearing a silly badge showing “Saya Anti Rasuah”. It’s a problem that I think spans within the lowest of the low to the highest ranking officer, just me 2 cents. So that’s about it… Until the next road adventure heheh (mayb I’ll do my own experiment with policemen who wears these badges… heheh), Kuman signing off.
